It’s been a while since I wrote anything, and this one is going to be really short, but this deserves some recognition.
Last night, I saw this on twitter. I not only retweeted it, but retweeted it twice. The second time, I translated the text into Japanese.
I think I was one of the last people to retweet in time for their class. While I was asleep they reported on Twitter that they had spent the entire school day with their students mapping out their approximately 1700 retweets. They must have just shown their students how far it went in 24 hours. And this wasn’t even something that went truly viral, making it on to other social networks. Those can explode even faster.
I really hope their students have taken the lesson about internet safety to heart, and I applaud these teachers for doing this. More teachers should be teaching lessons like this one.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to leave you with this awesome modification of the photo by game developer Masahiro Onoguchi. I’m also going to tweet that I wrote this so it can filter through to Facebook.
